BOOK A CLEANERThis Modern Slavery Statement is made by Cleaners Barnet in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. Cleaners Barnet is committed to operating ethically and transparently, and to ensuring that every person who works for or with us is treated with dignity and respect.
Cleaners Barnet maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking, including forced labour, debt bondage, servitude, child labour, deceptive recruitment and any practice that exploits vulnerable individuals. We expect the same high standards from all our employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers, regardless of where they operate.
We are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. Any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery connected to our operations or supply chain will be treated as a serious breach of our policies and may result in the termination of contracts and notification to relevant authorities.
Cleaners Barnet provides cleaning services to residential and commercial clients. Our operations rely on directly employed staff, as well as selected contractors and suppliers who provide cleaning products, equipment, and specialist services. We recognise that parts of the cleaning and facilities sector, and some international supply chains, may carry higher risks of labour exploitation, particularly where low-skilled or migrant workers are involved.
We work to identify these risks and to partner only with organisations that share our commitment to lawful, ethical and responsible employment practices.
Our approach to preventing modern slavery is supported by internal policies and procedures covering recruitment, equal opportunities, health and safety, whistleblowing and supplier management. These policies are communicated to relevant staff, and managers are responsible for applying them in day-to-day operations.
All recruitment for Cleaners Barnet is carried out in line with applicable employment and immigration laws. We verify the identity and right to work of all employees and do not charge recruitment fees. Employment terms are provided in clear, understandable language, and staff are free to leave their employment in accordance with their contractual notice periods.
We expect our suppliers and contractors to uphold the same zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and to comply with all relevant legislation. As part of our supplier approval and ongoing review processes, we assess labour and human rights risks and seek assurance that appropriate controls are in place.
Where we identify higher-risk relationships, we may undertake additional due diligence, request supporting documentation, or conduct audits or site visits. If a supplier fails to meet our standards or refuses to cooperate with reasonable checks, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship. We aim to work collaboratively with suppliers to improve practices wherever possible, but we will not compromise on fundamental human rights.
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our management teams and operational staff. Training focuses on recognising warning signs of exploitation, understanding our policies, and knowing how to respond to concerns. Employees involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management receive targeted guidance relevant to their responsibilities.
Cleaners Barnet encourages anyone who has concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected with our operations or supply chains to report them without delay. Reports can be made to line managers or senior management, and may be raised confidentially. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith.
All concerns will be taken seriously, reviewed promptly, and investigated where appropriate. Where necessary, we will work with external agencies or specialists to ensure that affected individuals are protected and that appropriate remedial actions are taken.
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. Cleaners Barnet reviews this statement and our related policies at least once a year, or more frequently if required by changes in law, guidance, or our business operations.
As part of the annual review, we assess the effectiveness of our actions, including the outcomes of supplier audits, the number and nature of any reported concerns, and feedback from employees and partners. We use this information to refine our risk assessments, update training and guidance, and strengthen our procedures.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Cleaners Barnet and represents our current approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
